Hairdressing Apprenticeship - level 2

The duration of this course is 24 months.  You are employed for a minimum of 30 hours. You will complete 509 hours of off the job hours. Training is delivered weekly on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.  However, we can offer a 1:1 salon delivery once a fortnight if required.

During this course, learners will devolop skills or knowledge they may already have through client consultation, shampoo/conditioning treatments, blow drying, styling and dressing hair, colour/colouring techniques and hair cutting. There are additional optional units in perming hair and hair relaxing, as well as an elective unit for Hair extensions available. 

The end point assessment is made up of a knowledge Exam (60 minutes) a professional Discussion (45 minutes) and a Practical Exam (5.5 Hours.) After passing, it allows the learners to achieve the qualification. 

If the apprentice chooses to advance they can further develop their skills by studying the Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Level 3, where skills are developed to a senior stylist/director level. This qualification allows you to develop your confidence and ability at a higher level to allow your career to flourish. 

The duration of this course is 18 months. You will be employed for a minimum of 30 hours. You will  also complete of 418 hours off the hour job training. Training is delivered every Monday at the Academy.

The contents of this course will help develop skills apprentices may or may not have and involves client consultation, shampoo and conditioning treatments, cut hair using barbering techniques, style and finish men’s hair, cut facial hair and shaving services. 

The End Point Assessment includes a  

Knowledge Exam (60 minutes) a Professional Discussion (45 minutes) 

and a Practical Exam (3.15 Hours.) After passing, it allows the learners to achieve the qualification. 

After completion, apprentices can come back to the Academy to start a Level 3 Barbering Fast Track Adult Course if they meet the requirements. 

The duration of this course is 14 months. You will be employed for a minimum of 30 hours. All learners must complete 348 hours of off the job hours training. Training is delivered at the Academy one day a week on a Monday.

The course entails client consultation, creatively restyle hair, creatively style and dress hair, creative hair colour correction and smoothing and strengthening system. You will also create a collection of portfolio of looks using fashion forward trends. This therefore helping learners develop their understanding and knowledge. 

The end point assessment has 3 components a Knowledge Exam (60 mins) a Professional Discussion/Portfolio Showcase (45 minutes) and a Practical Exam (5.5 Hours.) After passing, the learner will gain their qualification.
