Apprenticeships
We offer the following Apprenticeship Standards in Hairdressing and Barbering
Hairdressing Professional Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
All learners are employed for a minimum of 30 hours. Learners will complete a minimum of 6 hours a week off the job training. The planned duration is 24 months. This qualification confirms that apprentices have developed the skills, knowledge and behaviours in client consultation, shampoo and conditioning treatments, blow drying, styling and dressing hair, colour and colouring techniques and hair cutting. There are additional optional units in perming hair and hair relaxing, There is also an elective unit for Hair extensions available.
Achievement of the qualification is via End Point Assessment which has 3 components.
1. Knowledge Exam
2. Professional Discussion(45 minutes)
3. Practical Exam (5.5 Hours)
carried out by an independent assessor which results at either PASS, MERIT , DISTINCTION or FAIL
Upon achievement, apprentices are welcomed to further develop their skills by studying the Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Level 3, where skills are developed to a senior stylist/director level. This qualification allows you to develop your confidence and ability at a higher level to allow your career to flourish.
Training will be delivered at our Academy in Manchester’s Northern Quarter one day a week on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Alternatively we can deliver in salon on a 1:1 basis once a fortnight.
Barbering Professional Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
All learners are employed for a minimum of 30 hours. Learners will complete a minimum of 6 hours a week off the job training. The planned duration is 18 months. This qualification confirms that apprentices have developed the skills, knowledge and behaviours in client consultation, shampoo and conditioning treatments, cut hair using barbering techniques, style and finish men’s hair, cut facial hair and shaving services.
Achievement of the qualification is via End Point Assessment which has 3 components.
1. Knowledge Exam
2. Professional Discussion (45 minutes)
3. Practical Exam (3.15 Hours)
carried out by an independent assessor which results at either PASS, MERIT , DISTINCTION or FAIL
Training will be delivered at our Academy in Manchester’s Northern Quarter one day a week on a Monday.
Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
All learners are employed for a minimum of 30 hours. Learners will complete a minimum of 6 hours a week off the job training. The planned duration is 18 months. This qualification confirms that apprentices have developed the skills, knowledge and behaviours in client consultation , creatively restyle hair, creatively style and dress hair, creative hair colour correction and smoothing and strengthening system. You will also create a collection of portfolio of looks using fashion forward trends.
Achievement of the qualification is via End Point Assessment which has 3 components.

2. Professional Discussion/Portfolio Showcase (45 minutes)
3. Practical Exam (5.5 Hours)
carried out by an independent assessor which results at either PASS, DISTINCTION or FAIL
Training will be delivered at our Academy in Manchester’s Northern Quarter one day a week on a Monday or Wednesday.
